BBA “Spring Break” 2020
May 7 - May 8
On behalf of the Maryland Bankruptcy Bar Association, I write to inform you that the 2020 Spring Break Weekend is hereby postponed to a yet to be determined date, likely in the Fall of 2020. Our Board of Directors has concluded, regrettably, that it is not possible to go forward with the seminar on May 7 & 8, 2020 due to the current COVID-19 developments, the World Health Organization’s declaration of the COVID-19 a “pandemic,” and the recent executive order of Governor Hogan limiting gathering sizes to groups of 50 persons or less. Under these circumstances, which health officials believe will persist and will likely become even more complicated in the coming weeks, allowing the seminar to go forward would not be consistent with our commitment to the health and well-being of our program participants.
We know this decision disappoints many of you, just as it disappoints us. As indicated, we have already begun to explore the possibility of rescheduling our seminar for later in the Fall of 2020, at a time that we hope will be both calmer and healthier for our event. A full refund of any registration fees previously paid will be immediately given to all registrants. Please remember to cancel any travel and hotel reservations as soon as possible to avoid or limit any applicable cancellation fees. Information updates will be delivered via e-mail blasts to our membership and posted to the Maryland BBA website at www.bankruptcybar.org as such information becomes available. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing everyone once this global health concern is behind us.
Please direct any further inquiries to Craig Palik, Maryland BBA President 2019-2020 at email@example.com or 301-441-2420.
